Zane Wells Fecht, 32, of Bellevue, Nebraska, formerly of Gothenburg, died September 22, 2019 in a grain elevator accident in Fremont, Nebraska.
Zane was born December 12, 1986 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Tim and Charlene Fecht. He grew up and attended school in Gothenburg and graduated in 2005 from Pine Ridge High School in Chadron, Nebraska. He worked for several construction companies in the Omaha area, allowing him to travel to several different states. He was always a hard worker and was employed by Interstate Commodities in Fremont.
Zane’s pride and joy was his dog, Zuki. He loved and took care of many dogs of which included Journey and Maisie. He loved listening to music, his tattoos and enjoyed watching the Huskers play football, but most of all hanging out with his family and friends. Growing up, he always wanted to help others and that continued until his last day.
Zane is survived by his dogs, Zuki and Maisie. His parents Tim Fecht of Gothenburg, Nebraska and Charlene (Allen Gutshall) Fecht of Bennington, Nebraska, sister Shannon (Ken Moss) Schwartz of Hastings, Nebraska, brothers Braxton (Taylor) Fecht of North Platte, Nebraska and Elijah (Chrissy) Fecht of Newton, Iowa, nieces and nephews Xavier Donner, Taegan and Layla Schwartz, Henley and Declan Fecht, Uryiah, Khallon and Lotus Fecht; along with a host of other family and friends.
Zane was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Don and Bernadine Fecht and maternal grandparents Phil and Marlene Fredrickson.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, September 29, 2019, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm with the family present.
Funeral will be held at First United Methodist Church, Monday, September 30, 2019 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Jamie Norwich McLennan Officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Zane had a great love for animals; memorials may be directed to the Good Dog Rescue of Nebraska via website or via mail, 566 S 10th Rd, Palmyra, NE 68418.
