Whitney Buchholz-Lange

May 6, 1976 — May 13, 2010

Whitney Dru (Deardorff) Buchholz-Lange, 34 of Lexington died, in a motorcycle accident near Murdo, South Dakota, while on her honeymoon on May 13, 2010.

Whitney Dru (Deardorff) Buchholz-Lange was born May 6, 1976 in Gothenburg Nebraska to Craig Arnold and Charlene Louise (Palmateer) Deardorff. She graduated in 1994 from Gothenburg High School.

Whitney was blessed with a son, Talbot Jaicob, on March 1, 1996. Together with Roy Buchholz, they became a family. She and Roy were married on November 20, 1999. With this union she also gained three step sons, Kory, Isaac and Caleb. Roy preceded her in death on March 23, 2009.

She was employed by Tenneco from 1995 to 2007. After Roy was diagnosed with cancer she worked for a short time in Holdrege. She then went to work for the Comfort Inn in Lexington. She was currently employed at Tri-County Hospital as an evening admissions clerk, a job she loved.

In the summer of 2009, she and Patrick Lange were introduced and soon became inseparable. They loved to ride his Harley and spent much time on the bike. She and Pat were married on May 8, 2010. With this union she added four more children, Robert, Samuel, Amber and Zachery. She finally was “Mom” to 8 children that she had always wanted!

Whitney was known for her bubbly personality and vivacious smile. She was a loving daughter, mother, wife, sister and friend. We who are left behind know how blessed we were to be a part of Whitney’s life; we will miss her terribly but also know that she will always be with us in our hearts and memories. She would want us to carry on and remember all the good times.

Whitney was preceded in death by her first husband Roy, father Craig, grandparents Carol Palmateer and Ross and Leoris Deardorff.

She is survived by her husband Pat of Cozad, son Talbot Buchholz, mother and second father Charlene (Ralph) Ogier, brother Tim Ogier all of Gothenburg, sister Nichole (Patrick) Maez of Cozad, grandparents Allen (LaNora) Palmateer of Bartley, Garth (Bethel) Ogier of Wallace, stepsons Kory Wattier, Isaac and Caleb Buchholz, Robert, Samuel, and Zachery Lange, stepdaughter Amber Lange, mother and father-in-law Karen(Samuel) Lange, sister-in-laws Christa Lange, Donna (Lenwood) Mobley, Lois(Jim) Underwood, brother-in-law John (Brenda) Buchholz, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Whitney lived life to the fullest and she would want us to do the same!
