Wayne Gronewold
May 17, 1927 — December 14, 2006
On August 9, 1947 he married Delores A. Owings at Gothenburg.
Wayne worked for the Nebraska Natural Gas Company and later K-N Energy and Kinder Morgan. He retired after 45 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post and a past member of the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his loving wife Delores. One son Mark and his wife Rae Ann Gronewold of Griswold, Iowa. 2 Grandsons: Jake and Joel Gronewold of Griswold, Iowa. Sister-in-laws: Sharon and Roger Booth of Lexington; Sherrill and Bob Lessig of Hurricane, Utah; and Marlene and Roger Anderson of Kearney. Step sister-in-law Judy and Bill Alvis of Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church, Gothenburg, NE, with Rev. Matthew Groenke officiating. Burial is in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE at 1:30 p.m. Military rites by the Gothenburg Honor Guard.
