Vivian DeBoer, 90, of Cozad, Nebraska, died January 16, 2017 at her home in Cozad.
She was born May 17, 1926 in Orafino, NE, daughter of Ted and Velma (Thomas) Brown.
After her high school graduation, Vivian attended Normal Training and was a school teacher and art teacher for several years. She married Bryce DeBoer on January 15, 1944 at Oberlin, KS; they had two children - David and Patti. They lived north of Cozad, NE. Vivian was a busy wife and mother. She was involved in her community. Vivian was involved in the American Agriculture Movement in both Nebraska and Washington DC. She was a member of the Happy Homemakers, China Painters, Cozad Art Club and Gleaners at the Cozad Bible Church.
Survivors include her son, David (Carol) DeBoer; daughter, Patti (Greg) Andries; 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; two brothers, Jack and Tom Brown; two sisters, Shirley and Patty; along with extended family and friends.
Vivian was preceded in death by husband, Bryce DeBoer in 2008; and her parents, three brothers Robert, Laverne, and Keith Brown.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, January 22, 2017, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, 200 East 12th Street Cozad, NE January 23, 2017 at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Elwood Cemetery.
