Valta Mae Cruse, 70, of McCook formerly of Maywood, Nebraska, died October 14, 2012 following a battle with illness at her home in McCook, NE.
She was born February 15, 1942 in Benkelman, NE, daughter of Lloyd Guy and Mable Mamie (Mcilvanie) Little.
Val grew up at Benkelman and attended school there. She lived at Benkelman, El Paso, TX; McDonald, KS; Wray, CO; Imperial, Wauneta, North Platte, Wellfleet, Maywood, and McCook, NE.Valta married Philip Cruse on December 22, 1975 at Holyoke, CO. She worked as a waitress, flagger, homemaker and sales. She enjoyed card games, Bingo, and handicrafts.
Surviving are husband, Philip Leroy Cruse of McCook, NE; Danny (Kathy) Hallagin of Lawton, OK; Robert (Ann) Hallagin of Fullerton, NE; Philip Cruse Jr. of Scribner, NE; John Smith of McCook, NE; Leroy Cruse (Trimisha) of Lincoln, NE; Betty Jo (David Fulkerson) Hartpence of La Grange, IN; Tamice (David) Moore of Belgrade, NE; Crystal (Ed) Livingston of McCook, NE; sister, Marlis Stuteville of Wray, CO; sister-in-law Elizabeth Jacobs of Loveland, CO; 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Val was preceded in death by father, Lloyd Guy Little, mother, Mabel Mamie Little, sister, Dora Studdard, brothers Daniel Little, Rex Little, and Verland Little, daughter, Debbie Hallagin.
Graveside services will be held at Maywood Cemetery, Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
