Susie L. Hoaglund, 84, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died April 16, 2016 at Hilltop Estates, Gothenburg, NE.
Susie was born December 22, 1931 at Arnold, NE to Archie C. Hubbard and Ora O. Hubbard (Bailey). She graduated from Brady High School. She married Clair DeMilt on October 15, 1951, to this union a son, Robert was born. Nine years later Clair died of cancer. She then married Earl Hoaglund on January 15, 1962, to this union one son, John was born and joined the family of 4 stepchildren. Susie and Earl spent 43 years in the Brady community. Susie loved all of her family and always gave guidance to them.
Susie considered herself a "jill of all trades", working as a cook, waitress, cleaning homes, taking care of the ill, and working in a grocery store.
Surviving are sons, John (Monica) Hoaglund of North Platte, NE, Randy Hoaglund of Lincoln, NE, daughters Barbara Longsine of Lincoln, NE, Pam Koss of North Platte, NE, grandchildren, Christopher (Tiffany) Hoaglund of Elsie, NE, Skyler (Crystal) Hoaglund of North Platte, NE, Morgan Hoaglund of North Platte, NE, Tami (Rob) Palmer of Brady, NE, Toby DeMilt of North Platte, NE, Joe (Becky) DeMilt of Omaha, NE, Josh DeMilt of Tempe, AZ, Dan (Molly) DeMilt of Kearney, NE, Barry (Laura) Longsine of Kansas city, MO, Tracy Longsine of Texas, Jennifer Meitl of North Platte, NE, Melissa (Blair) Fangman of North Platte, NE, Nicholus Flynn of North Platte, NE, 20+ great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, sister-in-law Carol Hubbard of Kearney, NE, nieces, Peg (Keith) Pflaster of Gothenburg,NE, Laura Miesbauer of Gothenburg, NE, nephew, Lance Miesbauser, and many more nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Clair and Earl, son, Robert DeMilt, son, Jerry Hoaglund, brothers, Glen and Byron, grandson, Robert Jr, sister, Jan Miesbauer, and sister-in-law Dorothy Hubbard.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, April 19, 2016, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Funeral will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.
Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
