Susan Carr, “Sue” or “Susie”, a beloved resident of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023. Born on March 31, 1954, in North Platte, Susan's life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
With a deep sense of pride for her hometown, Sue attended and graduated from high school in Maywood. Her formative years were spent in and around Maywood, where she developed lasting friendships and cherished memories. Later on, she made the decision to move to North Platte, where she would spend the remainder of her years.
Some of Sue’s greatest joys in life were spending time with her family. Taking country road drives with sister Teri, visiting sister Jan at her house and especially spending time with her grandchildren, Landyn and Easton. Whether it was embarking on delightful adventures together or simply enjoying quiet moments at home, she treasured every second she shared with them. Sue’s love for family knew no bounds; she held a special place in her heart for all her loved ones. Her warm smile and infectious laugh brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.
Known for her compassionate nature and playful spirit, Sue had an extraordinary ability to make people laugh. Her quick wit and humorous anecdotes brought endless joy to those around her.
Sue’s unwavering love extended beyond her immediate family as well. She never knew a stranger; instead, everyone she met became an instant friend. Her kind heart and welcoming nature made others feel seen and valued. Those who had the privilege of knowing Sue will forever remember her genuine warmth and the lasting impact she made on their lives.
Sue is survived by countless friends and family, including her loving daughter, Amanda (Ricky) Gilmore and her two grandsons- Landyn and Easton who were the light of her life. Their bond was unbreakable and Sue’s love for them knew no bounds. Additionally, she leaves behind sister, Teri (Bill) Kleinow and family and sister Janice (Dave) Kreis and family. All together, they shared a lifetime of experiences, supporting one another through thick and thin.
Sue was preceded in death by her father Willis Davis, mother Bonnie (Dempcy) Davis, brother Randy Davis, brother Mike Davis, daughter Jennifer (Carr) Smith and unborn grandson Brice Daniel Smith.
As we celebrate Sue’s remarkable life and cherish the memories we hold dear, let us take a moment to reflect on the immeasurable impact she made in our lives. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her light will shine brightly in our hearts forever.
A family led Celebration of Life service will be held at the Maywood Community Center on saturday, September 16, 2023 at 4:00 pm.
Memorials may be sent to the family for later designation.
