Sharon Purviance

Sharon Kay Purviance, 61, of Curtis, NE, died at her home on January 23, 2007. She was born on May 30, 1945 in Denver, CO, to Harold and Jean (Albers) Hamberger and later adopted by Ellis and Trudy Albers.


In 1973 she married Terry Purviance in Morill, NE.


She grew up in Denver before moving to western Nebraska in 1972, where she raised her children. She had lived in Curtis for the past ten years.


Sharon enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bingo, bowling, reading and her pets Missy and Snowball. In her younger years she was active in the Women's Bowling Leagues. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.


Survivors include her children: Two sons: John (Myrna) Purviance and Paul (Brenda) Purviance all of Burlington, CO; Two daughters: Rhonda Purviance of Alliance, NE and Robin (Gary) Ritchison of Grand Island. Grandchildren: Dustin and Chelsea Purviance; Morgan, Matt and Martie Herman; Aaron Mader; Cherokee Purviance; Toshia and Tomikia Purviance and April and Dakota Ritchison. Four brothers: Gary, Terry, Jim and Butch Hamberger. One sister: Linda Hamberger.


Preceded in death by Ellis and Trudy Albers.


Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Curtis, NE with Rev. Paul Warneke officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Crown Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, Colorado. The register book will be available to sign one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be given to Frontier Village at RR 3 Box 525, Curtis, NE 69025.
