Sarah A. Hawk, 89, of Lexington, formerly of Gothenburg, died on December 30, 2007.
Sarah was born on October 28, 1918 at Bell Plains, Ks, to Homer Prince Waller and Jossie Pearl Griffin.
Sarah married Roy E. Bailey. Roy died in 1948. She then married Elmer Hawk in 1961 and he died in 1979.
Sarah received her certificate to work for geriatric care later in life and worked as a nurseé�a��a��s aid in Broken Bow. Sarah was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Sarah lived in Gothenburg from 1943-1961. She then moved to Mason City for 2 years, Broken Bow from 1963-1980. In 1980 she moved to Lexington.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husbands Roy and Elmer; infant children: Mary Alice and Randy Lee; her sons Kenneth, Darrell, Bill and Jack Bailey; a stepson James Hawk; her brothers T. Edward, John, and Arthur Waller.
Survivors include: son Charles Bailey of Spring, TX; daughters: Pearl (Leonard) Hofaker of Lexington, NE; June (Jerry) Williams of Lincoln, NE; Rose (Clark) Spivey of Elwood, NE; stepchildren: Melvina (Jim) Brown of Prole, IA; Francis Scheiff of Aurora, NE; Deanna (Wayne) Cheek of Republic, MO; Ellen Swanson of Kearney, NE; Frank (Sharon) Hawk of Norwalk, IA; 2 sister-in-laws Virgie Waller and Jean Waller; 26 grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren, 24 step great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Berean Bible Church, Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Glen Johnson. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE. Memorials may be given to Donoré�a��a��s Choice.
