Rodney Parrish, 63, of Gothenburg, NE, died August 2, 2013 at his home with his wife by his side.

He was born February 25, 1950 in Detroit, MI, son of Jesse Warvie and Viola Parrish.

Rodney married Mae Swindle on August 30, 1978 in Las Vegas, NV.

Rodney proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War 1967-69. He worked for many years as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and was a well known computer geek. He was very proud of his Cherokee heritage.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Swindle of Gothenburg, NE, three daughters - Lori Zimmerman, Cara M. Warvie, MaeLynn Westbrook; four sons - Jesse L Warvie, James D. Stevens, Rodney L. Parrish Jr., Wayne H. Parrish; 23 grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by father, Jesse Warvie, mother, Viola Parrish.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE; Tuesday, August 06, 2013 1:00 am - 8:00 am.

Memorial services will be held at Victory Assembly of God, August 7, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Borchardt officiating.
