Robert Lutjemeyer

Robert Lee Lutjemeyer, 85, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 22, 1936 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Harvey and Irene (Jobman) Lutjemeyer. Bob was born and up grew up on the family farm 12 miles north of Gothenburg in Custer County. He attended elementary school at district 161 before attending and graduating from Gothenburg High School. Following graduation, Bob served his country in the United States Army from 1955 - 1957 before being honorably discharged. Bob married Kay Deaver on December 30, 1957 in Gothenburg and to this union, three children were born: Sabrina, Steve and Shannon.

Robert could often be found hunting, playing and watching any kind of sports. When he was younger he was active in coaching little league baseball and playing softball. He held the softball home run record for several years. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Green Bay Packers fan (as long as they were winning).

Survivors include wife, Kay Leona Lutjemeyer of Gothenburg, NE, daughter Sabrina Lutjemeyer of Gothenburg, son, Steve (Sherri) Lutjemeyer of Riverview, FL, daughter, Shannon (Todd) Aden of Gothenburg, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Irene, and his sister Donna Kenning.

A visitation and register book signing will take place on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a rosary to follow at 6:00 PM.

Memorial services will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Thursday,  March 10, 2022 at 11:00 am with Father Michael Pampara officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date in Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Gothenburg Senior Center, or Central Plains Home Health and Hospice.
