Rick L. Hite, 63, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died October 20, 2020 in Gothenburg, NE.
He was born May 30, 1957 in Gothenburg, NE , son of Stanley Lee and Shirley Ann (Aden) Hite.
Rick attended elementary school and graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1975. He played football for Gothenburg while in school. After graduation he owned and drove his own truck, and also drove for NSG (Nebraska Salt & Grain), CO-OP and for Midwest Transport Company.
Rick married Esther "Chico" Garcia on August 15, 1981 in Gothenburg, NE, and was very proud of his three sons. Rick worked for the Dawson County Sheriffs Office in Lexington, NE for 18 years. He received the "Medal of Valor" from the Dawson County Sheriff Office in April of 2011.
Rick enjoyed hunting season and especially deer, duck and geese. He took pride in teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt. He loved to watch Nebraska Football and riding his Harley, and watching wrestling.
Survivors include three sons, Travis (Teresa Ward) Hite of Gothenburg, NE; Tyrel (Cindy Shirley) Hite of Cozad, NE; Toby Hite of Lincoln, NE, Nine - Grandchildren; Two - Great grandchildren, Esther "Chico" Hite of Gothenburg, NE
Rick was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Shirley Hite.
Due to the current Covid health situation we ask that Masks are worn.
Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2020, 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE.
Services will be held at Blase Strauser Memorial Chapel, Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 9:30 AM, with Pastor Harvey Pierce officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln NE, Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, Gothenburg, NE, Cozad Fire Department, Cozad, NE.
