Bill J. Terry, 60, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died November 10, 2010 at his home.
He was born May 27, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA, son of Bill J. Terry Sr. and Helen (Bennett) Terry .
Bill lived in Los Angeles, CA, until he was a teenager and then moved to Colorado and graduated from there. He joined the Army December 2, 1969. He retired from the military in 1985 and then stayed as an Army Reservist until 2001.
Bill was a Police Officer in Del Norta, CO, and later in Oklahoma. Bill worked as the Director of Human Resources in a Catholic Hospital in Colorado.
Bill played baseball all the way through high school until he was accidentally shot in the leg by his brother.
Bill was united in marriage to Diane at the Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow on April 7, 2006. He enjoyed living in the country with his best friend and wife Diane. Bill and Diane loved to do projects outside, including, landscaping, woodworking and RainXing his vehicles and the kids' vehicles. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to go off-roading with Diane on the Polaris, traveling, cooking, especially tacos, spaghetti and his grilling and loved to eat at Whiskey Creek with Diane.
Bill had a comical side but could be serious when he needed to be. He loved the Denver Broncos and the Nebraska Huskers. Bill had a strong relationship with God and thought of his church members as family.
Surviving are wife, Diane Terry of Gothenburg, NE, mother, Helen Terry of Beatty, NV, daughter, Trisha Terry of Blackwell, OK, son, Bryan Terry of OK, daughter, Jennifer and Dale Barr of Nazareth, PA, daughter, Amber Calek and Tom Vonheeder of Johnstown, NE, daughter, Ashley Calek and Cody Seitsinger of Merna, NE, grandson, Joshua and Caleb Alley of OK, granddaughter, Emma Barr of PA, granddaughter, Lilyonna Calek of Johnstown, NE.
Bill was preceded in death by father, Bill J. Terry Sr., brother, Michael Terry, paternal grandmother, maternal grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
