He was born August 31, 1948 in Omaha, NE, son of Ned Twohig and Vivian Twohig.
He grew up in Omaha and attended school at Boystown and graduated from there. He lived in South Sioux City, Omaha and Gothenburg. He served his country in the Army during Vietnam and earned several Purple Hearts. He had worked as a meat cutter; most recently he worked at a heavy equipment operator for Paulson's, Inc., in Cozad for the last 18 years. Rene enjoyed watching Husker Football, playing trivia, the TV guide channel and cooking.
