Paul Yeutter, 78, of Eustis, NE. passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg, NE, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Paul was born on July 9, 1936 to Paul and Helen (Brockmeier) Yeutter at the Yeutter family farm six miles north of Eustis. He was baptized on November 13, 1936, and confirmed on April 2, 1950 at St. Johns Lutheran Church of Eustis, where he was a member for many years. Paul attended rural school at District 70 north of Eustis and graduated from Eustis High School in 1954. He attended UNL and graduated in 1958 with a degree in Animal Science. While attending UNL, he was a member of Farmhouse fraternity, and was also a member of the livestock judging team, where he won numerous national awards. Following graduation, he was employed by the Cherry County Extension Service in Valentine, NE.

Paul was an active member of the US Army Reserve for 13 years, attaining the rank of Captain. In 1960, he returned to the family farm, where he followed his true passion of raising and feeding cattle, along with farming. Paul’s strong work ethic and innovative mind also led him to design and build many things. In 1970, Paul was chosen as Outstanding Young Farmer of Nebraska. In his lifetime, Paul assumed leadership roles in his church, Dawson County Cattlemen, Nebraska Cattlemen, T Bone Club, Nebraska Simmental Association, rural school board, and area 4H clubs. He was a charter member of Cozad Elks Club. Among his enjoyments were going to grandchildren’s events, playing cards, golfing, fishing, traveling, and rodeos.

On March 25, 1962, Paul married Janet (Wilson) at the Eustis Methodist Church. Their union was blessed with three children; Patrick, Eric, and Mindy. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Eldon, brothers-in-law Harold Schmeeckle, Arnold Block, and Gary Wilson; also mother and father-in-law Elmer and Ernestine Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jan; sons Patrick (Conny) and Eric, and daughter Mindy (Travis) Brock; and six grandchildren; Courtney (Seth) Terrell, Cressey Yeutter, Peyton (Manny) Yeutter, Chandler, Cameron, and Connor Brock; three great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Paul was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gothenburg, NE.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 from 1-8 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel with the family present from 5-7.
Funeral will be held 2:00 PM, Nov. 11, 2014, Evangelical Free Church, 1721 Lake Avenue, Gothenburg, NE with Rev. Jeff Cottingham officiating.
A private family burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery prior to the memorial service.
