Biography

Starr Lashley, 48 of Moorefield, NE died on November 12, 2007 at her home. She was born Patricia Starr Murdock on March 14, 1959 to Charles and Fern "Pat" (Davis) Murdock at Fort Worth, TX. Starr was raised by her mother and stepfather J.O. "Red" Turner, whom she always considered her father. She grew up in numerous towns across Texas and New Mexico finally moving to Dell City, TX where she graduated from Dell City High School in 1977.


On September 16, 1980 she married Charles Fredrick Lashley II at Van Horn, TX. To this Union one son was born Charles Lashley III. In 1991 they moved to Nebraska. Starr went to work for the IBP plant in Lexington in the personnel office. She worked there for 14 years until her health forced her to retire in 2004.


Starr enjoyed embroidering in her spare time. The rest of her time was spent with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and son. Starr enjoyed the company of her six dogs of which she considered part of her family.


She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Charles F. Lashley, Jr and her son Charles F. Lashley III both of Moorefield, NE; her mother-in-law Nora; six brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law Charles F. Lashley, Sr. and a brother-in-law.


Visitation will be held 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, Nov. 15 at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at the United Methodist Church, Curtis, Nebraska, with Rev. Kevin Burkhardt officiating.


Burial will take place in the Curtis Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
