Patricia A. Ambler, 92 of Gothenburg, passed away January 11, 2022 at Gothenburg Health.
She was born July 1, 1929 in Upland, NE, to Lars and Harriett (Worley) Ibsen. She attended school and graduated from Upland High School. She then attended Kearney State Teachers College where she met the love of her life -- Jim Ambler. They were married May 22, 1949 at the Upland Methodist Church. To this union, four children were born: Peggy, Polly, Penny and Lennie. Pat, Jim and family moved to Amarillo, TX, Naponee, NE, Broken Bow, NE and Alliance, NE before settling in Gothenburg in 1963. Pat was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Gothenburg Methodist Church, Gothenburg Cemetery Board, numerous bridge clubs, Birthday Club, Eastern Star, and volunteered for the Senior Center for many years. Pat also worked at the Gothenburg Times for many years and loved the Swede and Cornhusker Athletics.
Survivors include: her daughters, Polly (Mark) Petersen of Kealakekua, HI, Penny Strand of Imperial, NE and son Lennie of Lexington,NE; five granddaughters, Beth (Kyle) Reynolds, Jeni (Keith) Nicovich, Molly (Alex) Sharp, Morgan (Justin) Sherlock, Abby (Kendall) Clark; two grandsons, Jesse (Autumn) Ambler, Alex (Julia) Strand; seven great-grandsons, Charlie Reynolds, Archer Nicovich, Aric Sharp, Cain & Cordell Sherlock, Jed Ambler and Karter Clark; three great-granddaughters, Kyla Nicovich, Cadence Sherlock and Maddyn Sharp; sister in law, Beverly Reynolds of Dekalb, IL, and nieces and nephews.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Lars & Harriett Ibsen, husband, Jim Ambler, daughter, Peggy Jo Ambler, sister Maxine Gottula, son in law, Dennis Strand.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 16, 2022, 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Blase - Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE.
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 17, 2022, 2:00 PM at the Gothenburg Cemetery, with Pastor Grace Gichuru officiating.
Burial will follow the service.
Memorials may be directed to the "Jim Ambler Memorial Scholarship Fund" at First State Bank, Gothenburg, NE.
