Pamela Mann

Pamela Jean (Brown) Mann, 67, of Brady, NE went to her Heavenly Home on April 26th, 2022.

Born to Gerald and Velma Jean Brown in Valentine, NE on December 5th, 1954, Pam spent her early childhood in various places as the family moved for her father’s work.  In adolescence she grew up on the family farm outside of Brady with an older brother and three younger sisters.  Pam attended Brady Public School, where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen, graduating in 1973.

The summer after high school Pam worked at the North Platte Opportunity Center, sparking her passion for the developmentally disabled.  That fall she attended classes at Chadron State College to learn all she could about serving the mentally and physically handicapped.  Pam spent the remainder of her life serving the developmentally disabled.  She worked for the Opportunity Center and Region II Human Services before beginning a 32-year career for the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.  During her career, Pam was a constant advocate for the developmentally disabled.  She focused her time and effort to assure that the money intended for them was received and spent wisely to assure the best care for these individuals.  Pam’s passion led her to become Guardian of Loretta McKillip.  The care of Loretta was an important part of Pam’s life, and she made every effort to assure her health and happiness. Upon retirement from the State of Nebraska in 2016, Pam became the Director of Region II Human Services where she worked until her passing.

Jack and Pam were high school sweethearts and upon her return from Chadron were married December 20th, 1975.  They spent the first few years of their marriage embarking on many adventures aboard their beloved Moto Guzzi. In April 1979 Pam gave birth to her daughter Lucinda Marie and in August 1980 to her son Lukas Jeffrey.  From this point forward her children became the light of her life.  Jack and Pam bought a house in Brady where they enjoyed the small-town life. (There’s nothing better!)  Lucinda and Lukas gave Pam many grandchildren who became one of her greatest sources of Joy.  Jack and Pam were married 46 years.  There were many ups and downs, but Pam kept her focus on the Lord and refused to let anything steal her JOY!  Her faith in Jesus was strong and carried her through years of physical ailments due to Breast Cancer, Chronic Leukemia and COPD.  Pam did not focus on the negatives, but always chose to see the positive side of every situation.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Mann of Brady, daughter Lucinda (Daniel) Robison of Brady, son Lukas (Kim) Mann of Benson, NC; grandchildren Nicholas, Amanda, Abigail, Andrew, Benjamin and Cleland Robison, Christian and Cayla Mann, Camden, Parker and Mia Stallings; great-grandson Alexander Robison; Brother Mike (Sandy) Brown, Sisters Kathy Hoffman, Deb Brown and Michele (Stacey) Blagdon; Mother-in-Law Mary Ellen Mann; Sisters-in-Law Lynne (Rocky) Johnson and Sandy Burke; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at The Crossing Fellowship Family Life Center, Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at 10:30 AM with Jimmy Mann offering the message.

Memorials may be given to the family for designation at a later date.
