Norrene Anderson

December 11, 1925 — September 4, 2015

Norrene Evangeline Bratten Anderson, age 89,  of Gothenburg, went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2015.  She was born December 11, 1925 in Wild Horse Valley, north of Brady, to August Edward and Minnie Ruth Thompson Bratten, the second of four children.
She attended Wild Horse Valley Country School and graduated from Brady High School in 1943.  She worked three years at the Municipal Light Co. in North Platte, and then attended a semester at Omaha Bible Institute. After coming back to the area she worked two years at Public Power in Gothenburg.
During Confirmation training, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior.
On December 14, 1949, she and Wilbert Anderson were married at the Svea Dal Covenant Church, and made their home in Wild Horse Valley until Wilbert’s passing on March 12, 1999.
To this union five daughters were born, Linda, Carolyn, Jeanette, Joyce and Michelle.  Their home was opened to Jewel, Wilbert’s sister, where she lived six years.  Norrene moved to her home in Gothenburg in July of 2002, then to her home at Stone Hearth Estates.
Most of all she enjoyed her family and their interests.  She also enjoyed crocheting afghans for grandchildren and others.  Prayer was an important part of her life, for loved ones and others.
She is survived by five daughters, Linda (Mont) Bowman, Gothenburg, Carolyn (Boyd) Hicken, Gothenburg, Jeanette (Scott) Thomas, Ft. Collins, CO, Joyce (Jack) Miettinen, Grand Island, and Michelle (Bryan) Hecox, Brady.  Her ten grandchildren are Kerri (Chip) Blowers, Kaysie (Travis) Haas, Stacy (Brock) Anderson, Ross Hicken, Lindsey Thomas, Ashley (B J) Roth, Jackie Miettinen,  Jordan Miettinen, and Kaitlyn and Kamron Hecox of Brady.  She had 14 great-children, Charlie and Brooke, Emily and Easton, Braedon and Lindley, Caedence, Braelynn and Breck, Olyvia, Alex, Gage and Kennedy.  Also surviving her are sister-in-laws Dawna Bratten, Trudy Bratten, Jewel (Forrest) Johnson, brother-in-laws Delmar (Pauline) Anderson and Wendel Anderson of Omaha, along with nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbert, a sister Eleanor Johnson, and two brothers Winfred and Dale Bratten.
