Norman Lambertus

Norman Lee Lambertus 76, of Gothenburg went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2013 in Eddyville, NE following a battle with cancer.
He was born November 13, 1937 to Jess and Hilda (Jobman) Lambertus Hough in Gothenburg, NE.
He attended Gothenburg Public Schools, graduating in 1956. Upon graduation he worked various jobs in the area including Hay Mills, Farms Salesman, Meat cutter & The National Guards. He also lived both in Colorado and California doing various jobs. Upon his return to Gothenburg, he owned and operated the
Bar W Lounge for around 30 years, before he had to retire due to ill health.
Norm was an avid football and sports fan, fishing, playing cards, darts and a pool player. He was active in the APA and on many leagues and won many awards and trips.
Norm was a caring person who never turned down helping others if he could in any way.
On July 6, 1993 he married Sally (Mettenbrink) Hall at Lexington, NE. The couple made their home in Gothenburg where Norm ran the Bar W and Sally worked at Tenneco and also helped DJ, promo and worked at Bar W part time.
Surviving him: wife Sally L. Lambertus, two sons: Bruce Lambertus, Rick (Jodee Haugh) Lambertus both of Gothenburg, four Daughters: Melinda ( Mike) LaFond, Bakersfield, CA., Louise (Mark) Barnett of Newbury Park, CA, Lisa (Gary Hunt ) Harris of Kingman, AZ; Jessica (Ryan) Bollig of Eddyville, NE three Step daughters who he lovingly considered his own. Chelsey Hall & Heather (Dan Heinemann) Strickland of Cozad, NE; Tami (Todd) Ekart of Sidney, NE Father in law - Joseph Mettenbrink, sister in law- Val & Brad Duff all of Summerville, S.C. Brother in law - Joey Mettenbrink of Omaha, NE; Sixteen Grandchildren, eight Great Grandchildren.
Norm will be missed by all and especially his dog, Prince II who loved his "daddy Norm" very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 5-7p.m.
Memorial Services will be Friday, December 13, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 77191 Hwy 47, Gothenburg, NE with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Gothenburg Cemetery at a later date.
