Nola is survived by four children: Floyd and his wife Marcy of Gothenburg, Dale and his wife Cheryln of North Platte, Connie and her husband Carl Spence of Papillion and Roger and his wife Carol of Gothenburg. Nola is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Lorri, Lisa, Daniel, Kristi, Joe, Charles, Robyn, Ross, Michael, Karrie and Shannon and their spouses as well as 23 great-grandchildren, brother Burton McPheeters and his wife Betty and numerous nieces and nephews
Nola was born on March 27, 1920 at Gothenburg, NE to Ira and Pearl (Grady) McPheeters. She grew up in Gothenburg. She attended and graduated from Gothenburg High School 1938.
Nola was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gothenburg. She taught Sunday school and led a ladies Bible Study in her home for over two decades. Nola was also an active member of the community, involved in the Extension Club, Hospital Auxiliary, 4-H, bloodmobile, meals-on-wheels and others.
Nola was a supportive and loving wife of 50 years and a very gracious, nurturing and prayerful mother and grandmother. She bore all four children in less than four years and had no electricity or running water during her first five years of motherhood. She was honored as a "Mother of the Year" in 1979.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, May 22 and 9:00 am until 7:00 pm Friday, May 23, with the family present from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
A time of sharing memories of Nola is scheduled for 7-8 pm Friday evening. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 1002 Ave C, Gothenburg, NE, with Pastor Tom Rempel officiating.
Burial will take place in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Table in the Wilderness Ministry (Dan Wahlgren's Camp Ministry), KJLT Radio or the First Baptist Church.
