Morris C. Anderson, 93, of Gothenburg, passed away on September 14, 2009, in Lincoln, NE.
He was born on September 8, 1916 to Frank and Lillie (Turnquist) Anderson at the Turnquist farm north of Gothenburg, NE. On October 2, 1940, he married Eleanor Monson in Sutherland. To this union six children were born.
He grew up in the Wild Horse Valley near Brady, Nebraska. He attended schools at Spanneth in Brady, NE and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1934. Morris was a lifelong farmer and rancher.
Morris was a WWII Veteran, Veteran of Foreign Wars member, American Legion member and 50 year plus member of the United Methodist Church. He was also a 4-H leader, District 100-R School Board member for many years, Farmland Service Cooperative Director for 25 years and he was on the Gothenburg Cemetery Board.
Morris is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eleanor, sons - Kent (Ellen) Anderson of Concordia, KS, Ron (Chris) Anderson of Lincoln, NE; daughters - Shirley Huston of Gothenburg, NE, Janet (John) Lindsteadt of Lincoln, NE, Janel (Dave) Roti of Poway, CA, daughter-in-law - Tori (Jim) Brewer of Flower Mound, TX; 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ed Anderson, sisters, Lenore Montgomery and Charlotte Schroeder, brother Richard Anderson and infant brother Willard Anderson.
