Micheal Ryan Sr.

Micheal James Ryan Sr. of Cozad Ne. died February 12, 2022 at UNMC in Omaha Ne. surrounded by his children.

Micheal, Mike if you knew him was born August 29,1957 in Framingham, MA. to Fredrick and Lily Ryan. Mike and his dad Fred ran a variety store called Ryan’s Variety in Wrentham, MA., for many years.   Mike had a restaurant to the back of the store where he enjoyed cooking for the customers. It was there where Mike created his famous sandwich he called the “wing ding”.  Mike started to raise a family and later moved to Cape Cod, MA. On the Cape he began a career in carpentry, installing cabinets and countertops.  Whether it is was a river, lake, or his favorite the Atlantic Ocean Mike found peace by the water.  Mike was always there no matter who you were ready to listen and share a piece of advice and a few wise words.  Family dinners was what he looked forward to most.  He loved to listen to his children and grandkids talk, laugh and he even got a kick out of their occasional arguments.  He was best known for and will be remembered as loving the simple things in life like dad jokes, loud music, and long drives going nowhere.  Mike always said “there was nothing like a good grilled burger”.

Mike is survived by his children, Tiffani Ryan (Chip Munson) of Overton Ne., Michelle Ryan of Gothenburg Ne., Micheal Ryan Jr. (Shelly) of Winsted Mi., Timothy Ryan of Cozad Ne., Kaitlyn Ryan of Lincoln Ne., Cassidy Ryan of Lincoln Ne., his grandchildren , Georgina Dishman, Micheal Ryan III, Ryan Munson, and Mathew Munson. Along with his siblings and many nephews and nieces.

Mike was proceeded in death by his father Fredrick Ryan, mother Lily Wing, and his brother Keith Ryan.

A celebration of life will be held privately amongst the family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wetovick of Cozad Community Medical Clinic for his many years of kind and personal care he provided Mike.
