Marvin Lambertus

Marvin L. Lambertus, 87, of Gothenburg, NE, died on December 23, 2006. He was born on the family farm north of Gothenburg to William Jurgen and Margret Etta (Jobman) Lambertus. He attended country school north of Gothenburg.

In 1941 he married Geraldine Lundquist in Grand Island, NE. To this union three children were born: Doug, Carolyn é�a��A"Sueé�a��? and Jackie.

Marvin farmed for several years before moving to Grand Island in 1955 where he worked as a carpenter. In 1966 he started work at the New Holland Company as a tool and die maker. In 1977 he bought back the farm north of Gothenburg, he retired in 1982.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He and Geraldine traveled around the country visiting family. He enjoyed spending time at their cabin, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors: Son: Doug (Judith) Lambertus of Grand Island. two Daughters: Jackie (Roger) Headley of Gothenburg and Sue (Mell) Halsey of Dannebrog. 10 Grandchildren. 25 Great-Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife Geraldine and two brothers Melvin and Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006, 2:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church north of Gothenburg, with Pastor Bill Terry officiating. Burial is in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday, December 27, 2006, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel.
