Marvin Jensen

Marvin Jensen, 86 of Cullison, Kansas, formerly of Gothenburg, NE died March 20, 2010 at the South West Hospice Center. Marvin was born February 20, 1924 in Dannebrog, NE to John and Christina (Larsen) Jensen. Marvin grew up north of Dannebrog and graduated from Dannebrog High School in 1942. After graduation, he farmed with his father and in 1946 married Luella Waltman. In 1947 he moved to Gothenburg, NE. working as a mechanic for Gothenburg (Vannier) Ford Motor Company. In 1968 Luella died. In 1969 Marvin, married Hazel Killingworth. In 1986, at the age of 62, Marvin, opened his own repair shop called Starvin Marvins. In 2003 Hazel died. In 2005 Marvin, married Betty Jean Harding and moved to Cullison, Kansas.


Survivors include two daughters, Donna Jensen, of Gothenburg, NE, and Shirley Jensen, of Sacramento, CA; two sons, Bob (Mary Jane) Jensen of Gothenburg, NE, and Dave (Debbie) Jensen of Cozad, NE; three brothers, Art Jensen of Grand Island, NE; George (Darlene) Jensen of Cozad, NE; Ernie (Margaret) Jensen of North Platte, NE; three sisters, Leona McGarth, and Helen Armour both of Grand Island, NE; and Margaret Lukenback of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Mandy, and Marty; seven great grandchildren, Malori, Micheal, Mikayla, Megan, Korbin, Mishala, and Jadon; two great great grandchildren, Mariah, and Jacobie.

He is also survived by his third wife, Betty Jean Harding Jensen of Pratt, KS and her family; including 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives Luella and Hazel; and six brothers; Alfred, Clarence, Raymond, Harold, Carl, and Harlan.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at the First Baptist Church, 1002 Ave C, Gothenburg, NE.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fireman's Department would be appreciated in his memory.
