Marlene K. Myers, 69, of Brady, Nebraska, passed away December 9, 2021 at her home in Brady.
Marlene Kay Whipple Myers was born on July 9, 1952 in Gothenburg, NE to Karl and Margaret Vefl Whipple.
Marlene grew up in Brady, NE and graduated from Brady High School in 1970. During high school you could find her on the volleyball court, singing in the choir or cheering on the team in the Pep Club. After high school Marlene attended Beauty School. On March 24, 1972 was united in marriage to Ed Myers in Brady, NE. To this union three daughters were born, Traci, Jerrilyn, and Leslie. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Brady, Arnold and Callaway. Marlene enjoyed working with the public and getting to know her customers. During her life Marlene spent several years as a beautician. Upon moving to Brady, Marlene found her love of cooking for the public where she worked at all the local eating establishments at various times. If Marlene wasn’t cooking, you could find her checking out groceries at a local grocery store and finally retiring from Menards. Marlene’s highest priority was spending time with her family and grandkids. From a young age she loved to sing and enjoyed all types of music. In her spare time you could find Marlene doing crafts or working outside in her flower beds.
Survivors include her three daughters, Traci (Chad) Hilbers of Hooper, Ne. Jerrilyn Myers of Brady, Leslie Myers of Brady, grandchildren Sam Hilbers, Emma Hilbers, Alex Hilbers, Vanessa (Kolton) Heins, CJ Jehorek, Kaden Dady and Cameron Cauffman, sister Janice Dewey, brother Tom (Jeanne) Whipple, brother in-law Monte (Doreen) Myers, nieces, nephews and several close friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents Karl and Magaret Whipple, parents in-law Leslie and Wilma Myers and brother in-law Marvin Dewey.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, December 14, 2021, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
Burial will take place in the Gaslin Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the family do be determined at a later date.
