Marlene Dawn Finnell, 80, of Brady, Nebraska, died April 2, 2017 at Hilltop Estates, Gothenburg, NE.
She was born June 16, 1936 in Alliance, NE, daughter of Melvin and Bertha (Sisley) Colerick.
Marlene grew up at Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School in 1954. She married George Finnell on March 1, 1964 at Bridgeport; to this union three children were born - Todd, Troy, and Amy. After their marriage, they live in Fremont, Sibly IA, McCook, and Chadron, NE before making Brady their home. Marlene worked at the local gas station at Diary Queen. She was a member of Red Hats Society (The Brady Beauties), a card club and a craft club. She always attended kids activities.
Surviving are two sons, Troy (Marci) Finnell of Wright, WY, Todd (Denise) Finnell of Brady, NE; daughter, Amy Finnell of Farnam, NE; 10 grandchildren - Rich, Cassie, Shawn, Les, Steph, Kendra, Colt, Wylee, Cole, Ian; and two great grandchildren, sister Eva Toline; faithful companion Maggie; many friends and extended family.
Marlene was preceded in death by husband, George W. Finnell, her parents; sisters Minnie and Dorothy; brothers, Donnie, Earl, Harlan, Ben, Dale and Lyle Colerick.
Services will be held at Brady United Methodist Church, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:30 am with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg, Rev. Janie Freeman officiating.
Interment will follow in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery.
