Marlene DeCamp, 81, of Cozad formerly of Gothenburg, died October 20, 2016 at her daughters home in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born April 12, 1935 in Lisco, NE, daughter of Henry and Lillian E (Frerichs) Jobman.
Marlene graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1953. On November 22, 1953 she was united in marriage to Kenneth DeCamp at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gothenburg.
Marlene worked as a secretary for the superintendent at Gothenburg High School for 31 years. In her spare time she taught aerobics and loved playing bridge, which she took very serious and enjoyed winning.
Surviving are daughters, Kami (John) Brandt of Ogallala, Kressy (Ross) Ristine of Gothenburg; sister Diane (Ted) Gaudreault of Gothenburg; three grandchildren; Blake Ristine, Jessica (Charlie) Kafka, Quinn (Jacob) Murphy, four great grandchildren: William, Amelia and Benjamin Kafka and Scarlet Murphy, longtime and loyal friend Patricia Thompson of Gothenburg, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth and son Kim DeCamp.
Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jon Mapa and Pastor Mark Borchardt officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Peckham Cemetery.
