Marjorie June Paul, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema, was graced with peace when she passed away on March 25, 2008.
Marge was born on June 13, 1932 to Van & Mildred (Osborne) Sandberg at Kearney, NE. Marge grew up in Axtell and Kearney, Nebraska. She graduated from Kearney High School in 1950, where she was active in chorus and the drama club.
Marge and Al Paul were married in Minden, NE May 28, 1960. They lived in Farmington, NM, and several towns in Nebraska, including Lexington and Kearney, before retiring in Gothenburg. She loved antiques, reading, art, music and the Southwest. She was a talented artist who gifted her family with many paintings. Margeé�a��a��s professional career ended when she closed her antique store, Finishing Touches, in Gothenburg, but she never gave up her personal passion for antiques and fine jewelry. Her children remember her as the person who believed they could accomplish anything they desired, which has been their most valuable asset.
The achievements of her children and grandchildren made her very proud and she followed their sports and activities with unfailing interest. Her husband, Al, will continue to live at Stone Hearth Estates, where the couple has resided since 2005.

Bacon (Michael), Gothenburg, NE; 2 Step-Daughters: Jody (Denny) Ovenden, Craig, CO; Deborah L. Burris, Silva, NC; 2 Sisters: Bea Grass, Kearney, NE; Mary Jane Springer, Kearney, NE. Grandchildren: Lee (Diana) Ovenden, Ivins, UT; Kim Brock(Critt) Shook, Silva, NC; Seth (Emily) Bacon, Denver, CO; Deric (Tiffany) Meakins, Memphis, TN; Angel (David) Kwiatkowski, Fort Collins, CO; Alex and Tabitha Paul, Gothenburg, NE; and Great-Grandchildren: Jackson and Jude Meakins, Memphis, TN; Taylor Ovenden, Craig, CO; Addie Ovenden, Ivins,UT. Nephew: Jerry (Hazel) Grass, Minden, NE; Niece: Linda (Craig) Nuttleman, Kearney, NE.
Proceeded in Death by her parents, a step-son: Alfred P. Paul, 2 Grandsons: Thadeus Van Meakins and Danny Ovenden and Brothers-in-law: Kenneth Grass and Leonard Springer.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Victory Assembly, Gothenburg, Nebraska, with Pastor Mark Borchardt officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at a later date.
