Marinette "Mik" Stickelman, 93, died on September 23, 2009 at Hilltop Estates, Gothenburg.
Mik was born to John E. and Annie Bellstrom Joneson on January 3, 1916 in Manderson, Wyoming. She lived in Gothenburg all of her life and was a graduate of Gothenburg High School in 1933.
She taught country school near Farnam. She, later traveled to Chicago to receive her Nursing Degree, and then worked for Dr. Stevenson.
She was a life long member of the Gothenburg First Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher and Choir Director.
On October 19, 1936 she married Roy E. Stickelman who preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon Joneson of Cozad and Wallace Joneson of Florida, two sisters Alyce Williams and Gretchen Kerr of Gothenburg and a grandson Courtney Stickelman.
Mik will be remembered for her lovely porcelain dolls and the many hours spent in helping others create their own.
In 1995 Mik was awarded Outstanding Citizen by the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce. She was an "Honorary Pony Express Rider" for the year of 1995.
Survivors include a son Brad Stickelman and his wife Janine; their son Corby and his wife Sherry and their sons Barrett and Decker; a daughter, Sherril Whitaker, and her daughter Stacey Basham and nieces and nephews and their families.
