Marilyn Jean France, 76, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 11, 2010 in North Platte, NE.
She was born September 6, 1933 in Coleridge, NE, daughter of Bernard Claire Peck and Otolee Dorothy Peck.
As a child she lived in Coleridge, Grand Island and Gothenburg. She graduated from Gothenburg High School, class of 1950. She played the trumpet in the High School Band.
Marilyn married Leonard France on June 15, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gothenburg, NE. After her marriage to Leonard, they lived in Bellville, IL (1952), Bangor, ME (1953), Gothenburg (1954-1957), Lexington (1958-1971) and then back to Gothenburg. Marilyn worked as a clerk for Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas. She loved to go to Nebraska Football games with her husband and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are husband, Leonard France of Gothenburg, NE; son, Shane (Debbie) France and their children Logan and Austin of Tucson, AZ; son, Kirk (Rhonda) France and their children Brett, Lauren and Scott of Plano, TX; brother, Bill (Joyce) Peck; brother-in-law, Robert Adams; and sister-in-law Delores Heuer.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.
