Marian Stevens

Marian Ramona Stevens, 86, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 17, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.
She was born October 12, 1929 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Charlie and Jennie (Durland) Buesing.
Marian graduated from Gothenburg High, Class of 1947. She married LaVern Stevens on June 3, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church and they made their home on the Stevens Family Farm north of Gothenburg. She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, financial secretary for Lutheran Church Women, various committees, and quilters. Marian was a busy farm wife and mother of four children; Carolyn, Coleen, Lee and Carla. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and birthday club. She loved her family, grandchildren, great grandkids and her dog, Cleo. In her later years, after moving to town, she enjoyed working on word search puzzles, embroidery and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her son, Lee Stevens of Gothenburg, NE; three daughters, Carolyn (Steve) Vonderfecht of Azusa, CA, Coleen (Rickie) Clark of Gothenburg, NE, Carla (Greg) Bacon of Overton, NE; six grandsons, Tyson Vonderfecht (fiancé Nicole), Kevin (Amanda) Vonderfecht, Evan (Stazia) Clark, Derick (Jen) Bacon, Nathan (Danielle) Bacon, Aaron (Ann) Stevens; two granddaughters, Nicole (Josh) Weaver, Ashley (Andy) Miller; six great grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Barb) Buesing; sister in-law Marilyn Baumann; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern; grandson, Brett Stevens; her parents; two brothers, Robert Buesing, Norbert Buesing; and sister, Virginia Hilton.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, December 27, 2015, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. with her family present from 2-4.
Services will be held, Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 77191 HWY 47, Gothenburg, NE 69138.
Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
