Lynn Jay Moore, 60 of Maywood, NE died August 27, 2008 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, NE.
Lynn Jay Moore was born on February 23, 1948 at Gordon, NE to Bruce Leo and Sheila Joyce (Spence) Moore. He grew up in Gordon where he attended Gordon Public Schools, graduating from Gordon High School in 1966. Following high school Lynn attended the United States Air Force Academy Prep School for a year. He then attended the United States Air Force Academy and later transferred to Chadron State College where he received Bachelor Degrees in Mathematics and Physics, and later in completed a teaching certification. While attending school Lynn served in the US Air Force Reserves from 1967-1972.
Lynn married Mary on October 19, 1974 in Boulder, Colorado. Lynn lived many places including New York, Colorado, California, Texas and Nebraska. They settled in Maywood in July of 2006 where Lynn was employed as a Math Teacher and coach of the Maywood Track Team.
Lynn enjoyed fishing and gardening. He valued his time with each and every one of his students, whether that was in the class room or on the track. He also enjoyed his time with his family especially being a grandparent.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife Mary M. Moore of Maywood, son Jason Scott & Amanda Moore Carson City, NV; two daughters Rhonda Lynn Duesterberg & Susan Powell of Thornton, CO and Brenda Sue &Jim ten Bosch of Los Banos, CA; his mother Sheila Joyce Moore of Gordon, NE; two brothers Dennis Leo & Diana Moore and Patrick Bruce & Gloria Moore both of Omaha, NE, family friend Janine Metzger of Gordon, NE; four grandchildren Janelle, Tiffani, Emily and Jonathon ten Bosch, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Marie Moore and his father Bruce Leo Moore.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 30, 2008, Maywood Community Hall, Maywood, Nebraska with Dale Heimer officiating.
