Luella Elaine Stevens, 88, of Gothenburg, NE, died June 14, 2011 at her home north of Gothenburg, NE.

Luella Elaine Stevens was born April 13, 1923 at Farnam, NE to James L (Lonnie) Teel and Lula L. Heath Teel. She attended schools near Farnam, graduated from Farnam High School, and taught in rural schools near Cozad. She clerked in grocery stores and restaurants. On May 26, 1946 she was married to Edward Stevens at Christ Lutheran Church in Gothenburg and they made their home north east of Gothenburg. She became a member of Christ Lutheran Church and American Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, was a member and officer of ALC Women of the Church. She was one of the founding members of the Nebraska Chapter of Women Involved in Farm Economics, and served as a State and National officer of that organization. Luella enjoyed family, church, friends, traveling, gardening, reading and writing.

She is survived by her husband Edward, two sons Kenneth (Barbara) and Ronald (Connie Jo); two daughters Kathleen (Terry) Williams and Jacqueline Tomrdle; four grandsons, six granddaughters, 13 great-grandsons, and 10 great-granddaughters, and many beloved nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Carroll D Teel and James L Teel; three sisters Nona Cooper, Ethel Hardee and Gladys Harwood; a son-in-law Bruce Tomrdle and a great grandson Michal Rosner.
