Lucille Peterson, 77, of Gothenburg died January 21, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Lucille was born at Gothenburg on July 11, 1933 to Delbert and Dorothy Murray. Lucille was raised in the Cozad and Gothenburg area, graduating from Gothenburg High School in 1951. In 1948 Lucille accepted Christ as her personal savior under Rev. Percy Carlson.

She married Harold Peterson on May 18, 1952 in Gothenburg at the Evangelical Free Church, after a short courtship.

Lucille devoted her time to raising her four daughters and assisting her husband with his numerous job ventures.

Lucille was really active in church activities, women's ministries, and Gideons. While with the Gideons she served as secretary and past President. Lucille loved to sing and teach her daughters how to cook, keep house and sew.

Lucille is survived by her husband Harold; four daughters- Vickie Peterson and Jody (Dick) Nelson all of Gothenburg; Diane Cooper of San Diego, CA and Karla (Lloyd) Millage of Atlanta, GA; and son-in-law Steve Cooper of San Diego, CA. Half-brother Roger Griffis of Arizona, half-sisters- June (Charles) Brown of Brady and Marie (Dale) Kudnar of Colorado, Marilyn (Dick) Skiles of Kearney, NE; and Connie (Ron) Olds of Cozad, NE; step-sisters- Hazel Woodward of Gothenburg, and Betty Kennedy of Cozad, NE; step-brothers Glen Griffis of Missouri and Alvin Griffis of New Mexico, Seven Grandchildren- Staff Sgt. Nathan (Stacy) Nelson of Colorado, Amanda (Sean) Morrison of Pennsylvania, Ashley (Kyle) Whitehead of Florida, Melissa (Dr. Todd) Crum of Omaha, Adam Cooper of San Diego, CA; Tracy Nelson of Gothenburg and Adriane Millage of Atlanta, GA; one great grandson Dominic of Kearney.

She was preceded in death by her parents Delbert Murray and Dorothy Harvey, step-brother Bob Harvey and special aunt and uncle Madge and George Murray.
