Biography

Lloyd "Gus" Wolgamott, 79 of Cutis passed away on Sept. 8, 2007 at the State Veterans Home in Grand Island, NE.

The youngest of ten children born to Ray and Catherine (Force) Wolgamott, Gus was born on a farm south of Elwood, NE on September 4, 1928. He attended Curtis Public School and graduated from Nebraska School of Agriculture in 1946.

Gus was employed for many years by Independent Oil Co. before purchasing his own business L.W. Service. He was inducted into the US Army in 1950. He served honorably for two years, including a tour of duty in Korea.

Gus enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, camping and listening to country western music. He was a member of the American Legion, Served as a Boy Scout leader and was on the Curtis Public School Board.

Gus is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hilda; two sons L. Kent of Lincoln and D. Kirk (Jennifer) of Burbank, CA; three grandchildren Daniel, Ella and Ava; his "special" daughter Guech Po Seng and her family of Pleasant Hill, CA; one sister Laura Belle and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. Memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Pheasants Forever. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.blasestrauser.com

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, September 10 at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, 2:30 pm, Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, NE.
