Linda Marie Rowan, 71, of Jeffrey Lake, died unexpectedly on January 9, 2019 at the Medical Center of Aurora, CO.
She was born February 25, 1947 in Omaha, NE, daughter of Edwin and Francis (Paladino) Hald. Linda grew up in Cozad and graduated from Cozad High School. She then attended St. Catherine's School of Nursing and graduated in 1968 with her Registered Nursing Degree. She married Ted Rowan on September 7, 1968 at Cozad and they had two children - David and Nicole. They lived in Lincoln for a few years and also spent a year in California before moving back to Gothenburg in 1974. They later made their home at Jeffery Lake. Linda worked as a registered nurse for many years at Gothenburg Public Schools, Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, and Hilltop Estates.
Linda was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church and served on the Altar Society. She was an active Teammates volunteer, PEO member and Hospice volunteer. In her free time she enjoyed walking, the YMCA at Gothenburg Health, reading, crocheting, knitting, weaving and flower gardening. Linda enjoyed hosting friends and family at her lake home, especially her grandchildren. Linda and Ted lived part-time in Aurora, CO where she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events as well as supporting them in their 4H livestock activities at the Urban Farm in Denver.
Surviving are husband, Ted Rowan of Jeffrey Lake, son, David (Jennifer Starr) Rowan of Denver, CO, daughter, Nicole (Brian Putnam) Rowan of Denver, CO, four grandchildren: Claire, Brooke and Seth Rowan, and Kai Putnam, sister, Barbara Hald (Phil Racina) of Chicago, IL, two brothers, Mark (Cindy) Hald of Scottsbluff, NE, and Patrick (Amie Preston) Hald of Ogden, UT, Brothers-In-Law and Sisters-In-Law, Kathy and Chuck Belden of Gothenburg, NE and Bob and Jean Rowan of Omaha, NE, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Francis.

from 1:00-7:00 pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Gothenburg, NE with Father Don O'Brien officiating with a 9:30 am Rosary prior to the service.
Private family burial will take place in the Gothenburg cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Urban Farm 4H Club c/o Amy Marrs, 10200 Smith Road, Denver , CO 80239. The mission of the Denver Urban Farm is to inspire excitement for leaning through practical work experience in a farm setting while fostering respect, responsibility, curiosity, caring and grit. Linda's grandchildren are part of the 4H club at the farm and have been active in livestock activities at the farm.
