Linda Ruth (Hall) Hamit, 66, of Wallace, Nebraska, went home to be with the
Lord on November 15, 2013, at her home in Wallace.
She was born on December 14, 1946 in McCook, to Merle "Bud" and Ruth A Hall.
Linda graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture, and
later earned her Bachelor's in Accounting. While attending UNSA, Linda met
the love of her life, Carl Hamit. They were married on July 12, 1964 at the
First United Methodist Church in Curtis. This union was blessed with four
children: Robert, Angel, Shannon, and Jeremy. The couple lived at Kennedy
and Milford, Nebraska until Carl joined the Marine Corp in 1967. They were
stationed in Memphis, Tennessee and El Toro, California until Carl's
discharge in 1971. The family lived in Curtis until 1978 when they moved to
Wallace where they owned and operated Wallace Flying Service.
Linda was actively involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. Time
spent with family was always important to her; she enjoyed having everyone
over for holiday meals. She loved to preserve the memories of her family
through photography. She enjoyed traveling with Carl, both flying and
driving. There was always a dog around the house and horses in the pasture.
Reading was a favorite past-time, and it wasn't uncommon for there to be
several books in each room of the house.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of almost 50 years, Carl Hamit
of Wallace; daughters, Angel (Bruce) Brennemann of Curtis, and Shannon
(Chris) Reich of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Aretta, Grace,
and Ella Brennemann, Danielle and Darian Reich, Wyatt and Garrett O'Brien;
brothers, Greg (Cindy) Hall of Fremont, and Steve Hall of Curtis, and a host
of extended family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Robert and Jeremy
Hamit.
Services will be held at the Community Hall, 105 E. Alice St., Wallace, NE,
