Lily East

Lily May East, 85, of Gothenburg and Curtis passed away May 1st, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

Lily was born at home on February 24th1924, to William and Matilda Ross. She married John East and two children were born to this union Melvin and LaVaughn. She worked most of lifecooking in restaurants and etc. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She loved spending time with her family.

She watches us from Heaven now. We hold on to our fondest memories of her, especially those memories that fed our stomachs and our souls with her fried chicken, brown bread and cinnamon rolls. She will be remembered dearly for her love of playing cards, going fishing and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Melvin and wife Brenda of Gothenburg; her daughter, LaVaughn and husband, Melvin of Curtis; sister, Edith and husband, Elmer; brother, Lonnie; three grandchildren, Lisa and husband Dennis, Lori and husband Rex, and Levi; five great-grandchildren, Kari, Christopher, Shaun, Mackenzie and Jackson; two great-great grandchildren, Macey and Bailey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
