Lila "Peg" Brown

Lila "Peg" Brown, 90, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died May 8, 2015 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

She was born September 27, 1924 in Bertrand, NE, daughter of Earl Edward and Autumn Lorna (Parkin) Bennett. The family lived in Eustis, Bertrand, and Cozad, NE while she was growing up.

Peg married Roy "Chet" Brown on December 24, 1946. To this marriage one son was born, Randy. Peg worked at the Ford Garage during WWII rebuilding motors. She also helped Chet truck fuel. Peg later went to work for Monroe in Cozad where she worked until she retired.

Peg loved to dance spending countless hours dancing wherever she could find a dance.  She enjoyed crocheting things for anyone she could and loved kids and spending time with them.

She is Survived by her daughter-in-law Nancy Parmenter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peg was preceded in death by husband, Roy "Chet" Lee Brown, son, Randy Brown, her parents; eight brothers Vern, Virgil, Donald, Melvin, Mervin, Keith, Robert and Clinton Bennett; and three sisters; Vivian, Erma and an infant sister Eva Bennett

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, May 10, 2015, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, May 11, 2015 at 10:00 am with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the Hilltop Memory Wing.
