Lester Ruben Jobman, 93, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died May 10, 2016 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
He was born July 28, 1922 north of Gothenburg, NE, son of Peter and Emma (Poggendorf) Jobman.
Lester grew up north of Gothenburg on the family farm. He married Frances Block on December 16, 1951 at Christ Lutheran Church at Gothenburg. To this union, 3 children were born - Terry, Heidi, and Matthew. Lester was a life long farmer and rancher. He also was a Pioneer seed salesman for many years. He was a member of the Jaycees, Lions Club, and was an active member of the American Lutheran Church. He enjoyed baseball, softball, and bowling along with sports in general. He was a devoted card player, he enjoyed billiards and square dancing. Lester especially liked to watch his grandchildren participate in school activities.
Survivors include his wife Frances Jobman of Gothenburg; son, Terry (Nancy) Jobman of Gothenburg, NE; daughter, Heidi Jobman of Chappell, NE; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Jobman of Gothenburg, NE; grandchildren - Andrew (Rebecca) Jobman of Gothenburg, NE, David (Jana) Jobman of Gothenburg, NE, Erin Jobman of Manhatten, KS, Christopher Morris of Kansas City, KS; Erica Jobman of Sidney, NE along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, son, Matt Jobman, brothers, Paul and Alfred Jobman; sisters, Dorothy Wright and Lorene Stevens, son-in-law, Roger Morris, granddaughter, Susan Elizabeth Jobman.
Book signing will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 Tenth Street, Gothenburg, Nebraska; on Friday, May 13, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6-8.
Memorial services will be held at American Lutheran Church, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:00 am with Pastor Jon Mapa officiating.
Private interment will be at a later date in the American Lutheran Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the American Lutheran Church.
