LaVaughn “Bonnie” Jensen, 90, died in Olathe Kansas on April 22, 2015
LaVaughn was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 23, 1924, the daughter of John and Zelda Nelson. She grew up as a child with her sister Charlotte in Omaha. She met Walter Jensen while working at the Fairmont Creamery. Walter entered the Army during World War II, which interrupted their blooming relationship. They kept their relationship going by writing letters during a long war. Upon returning from the war, they were married on December 19, 1945. They moved to Gothenburg after being married, where they lived for over 60 years. Walter worked from North Platte as a certified Public Accountant. He proceeded LaVaughn in death on March 22, 2005. LaVaughn moved to Olathe, Kansas in 2011.
LaVaughn leaves her three children, David of Walnut Creek, California, Elaine of West Linn, Oregon, and Dennis of Olathe, Kansas, seven grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife, mother and a Christian woman who loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her Savior and is now safe in His presence for all eternity.
Graveside services will take place Monday, April 27, 2015 2:00 PM at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
