Larry Wayne Vincent, 66, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died July 11, 2010 at his home in Gothenburg, surrounded by his family.
Larry was born August 29, 1943 in York, NE, son of L. Wayne Vincent and Edna (Cotner) Vincent. He graduated from York High School in 1961 and attended Kearney State College. He served as a Staff Sergeant with the Nebraska National Guard.
Larry married Judy Markham on March 3, 1972 at Columbus, NE.
He was a life member of Elks Lodge 1760, 50 Year member of First United Methodist Church, and the Legislative Committee of Independent Agents of Nebraska. He lived in York, NE, Ogallala, NE (1971-1990), and Gothenburg, NE (1990-2010). He worked in the insurance and banking industry with 20 years as an insurance claims adjustor. Most recently, Larry worked as a claims adjustor for Battle Creek Mutual Insurance.
Larry loved camping, boating, water skiing, swimming, and spending time with family. In his early life, he was a talented trumpet player, vocalist, and actor. He enjoyed vintage western movies, Nebraska Football and was an accomplished “do-it yourselfer”. He adored his two granddaughters and was exceptionally fond of dogs and a select few cats.
Surviving are wife, Judy Kay Vincent of Gothenburg, NE, son, Kyle (Tiffany)Vincent of Gothenburg, NE, son, TJ (Jennifer) Vincent of Omaha, NE, mother, Edna Vincent of York, NE, brother, Jim (Kay) Vincent of Kearney, NE, brother, Craig (Patti) Vincent of York, NE, granddaughter, Claire Vincent of Gothenburg, NE, granddaughter, Maggie Vincent of Omaha.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, L. Wayne Vincent.
