Larry Parker

Larry Lee Parker, age 65 of Gothenburg, Nebraska passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Larry was born September 14, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Eldon P. and Bertha M. (Christensen) Parker. Larry grew up in the Anselmo, Thedford, Eddyville and Bertrand communities.

On March 17, 1960 Larry joined the United States Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged on February 28, 1966.

Larry married Carolyn Woehrle on March 16, 1974 in Cozad, Nebraska. Larry drove truck and was a diesel mechanic at GTech for the last 23 years.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching westerns and sports on television and he was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan.

Larry is preceded in death by his father and one sister Karen Hild.

Larry is survived by his wife Carolyn Parker of Gothenburg, NE. His mother Bertha Parker of Cozad, NE. Daughters Kim Dewey and her children Tyrell, and Morgan of Gothenburg, NE, Tracy and husband Mark Lichtenwalter of Cozad, NE, Barbara and husband Larry Albertson and their children Alex, LaTasha, Larry, Aareyan, Xavier, Nathaniel, and Ryan of Cozad, NE. Two brothers Richard Parker of Buffalo, SD, and Jim and wife Karen Parker of Lexington, NE, one sister Mickey and husband Lester Nutt of Curtis, NE. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct 3, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg with Pastor Matthew Groenke, officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, NE.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg, NE.
