Larry Kent Callahan, 69, of Cozad, NE, passed away April 7, 2011 in Cozad, NE.
He was born September 17, 1941 in Moorefield, NE, son of Willis "Bill" John Callahan and Ruth Gladys Lind Callahan.
He attended rural schools in Lincoln County and Gothenburg High School. He served in the Nebraska National Guards.
Larry worked in maintenance for Sperry New Holland and IBP. For many years he drove truck for local trucking firms. He worked as an electrician for a pivot manufacture. He also worked at Monroe’s in Cozad.
He married Kim Fingerhut in 1974 they had a daughter Erin. They later divorced.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, being outside, shooting guns, traveling and road trips. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandson Jakob. He had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to play jokes on people. He loved life and having a good time. He like to drive around and see what there was to see.
Surviving are daughter, Erin Leigh Kostman of Cozad, NE; grandson, Jakob Kostman of Cozad, NE; mother, Ruth Callahan of Gothenburg, NE; sister, Rosie (Cecil) Baker of Ruskin, NE; brother, Willis D (Onna) Callahan of Alda, NE; brother, Doug (Marlene) Callahan of Cozad, NE; sister, Chris (Lynn)Barnes of Cozad, NE; sister-in-law Nancy Callahan of Cozad, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Willis "Bill" John Callahan in 1986, and his brother, Robert D Callahan in 2002.
