LaRee Lynn Simants, 40 of Gothenburg died on February 10, 2008 at Gothenburg.
LaRee was born December 31, 1967 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Clarence and Ivy (Shoop) Avis. LaRee grew up in the Gordon-Oshkosh-Rushville area. She attended school at Rushville and graduated in May 1986. She also graduated from Josephé�a��a��s College of Beauty. LaRee worked as a manager at the Dollar General store in Gothenburg. She had previously worked as a Day Care Provider, a Cosmetologist, and as a Med-Aide for a clinic in Gothenburg.
On June 18, 1988, LaRee married Larry R. Simants at Gothenburg. To this union 2 children were born: Alisha Lynn and Colby Tyler. She loved children of all ages and she was active in anything her family did like going camping, boating, fishing, and hunting. You always saw LaRee with Larry, Alisha and Colby no matter what they were doing. LaReeé�a��a��s hobbies and interest were her family and there was nothing more important than them.
LaRee is survived by her husband Larry, a daughter, Alisha, a son, Colby of Gothenburg. Parents Clarence & Ivy Avis of Rushville, Nebraska, one brother Doug Lee (Tora) Avis of Scottsbluff, one sister Kristy Jo Avis of Chadron, Nebraska; 2 brothers-in-law: Scott (Becky) Simants of Gothenburg; Steve (Patty) Simants of Lincoln; and her mother-in-law Dorothy Simants of North Platte.
LaRee was preceded in death by her grandparents, uncles and father in law, cousins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2008, 11:00 a.m.é�a��a�?8:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008, 2:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Gothenburg, Nebraska, with Pastor Bill J. Terry, Jr. officiating.
Burial will take place in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
