Kristie Ann (Rodine) Bartlett 58, of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on January 22, 2013 at the Cozad Community Hospital, Cozad, NE.

Kristie was born August 12, 1954 at Fort Sill, OK, daughter of Wallace and Delores (Bailey) Rodine. She moved with her family to Custer County, north of Gothenburg where she attended country school at New Hope. She was very active in the New Hope Church and the New Hope Community.

At the age of six Kristie was led to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by her mother. Sunday School and Church continued to be an important part of Kristie's life. She was a member of the Cozad Bible Church, where she was active in Sunday School and Adventure Club.

Kristie graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1973, and later earned her BA in Early Childhood Elementary Education from UNK.

On September 11, 1976, she married Joe Bartlett at the Evangelical-Free Church in Gothenburg, Nebraska; this union was blessed with two children, Mara, and Brody.

Kristie taught preschool in Gothenburg and was a special education teacher at Brady and Lexington High School. Kristie was passionate about education, her garden, and working with children. She took joy in serving others through education and working with youth in the Gothenburg, Cozad, Brady and Lexington areas. She also had a great love of music and enjoyed sharing that with family, friends and her church communities.

Surviving are husband, Joe Bartlett, daughter Mara (Todd) Teske Minneapolis, MN; son Brody Bartlett of Lincoln, NE; father Wallace E. Rodine of North Platte, mother Delores Rodine of Gothenburg; sister Angela (Shawn) Henley of Pleasanton, CA; brother Randy Rodine of Houston, TX; father-in-law Roy Bartlett of Gothenburg; brother-in-law Ross (Mary) Bartlett of Gothenburg, NE, sister-in-law Robin Bartlett of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Kristie was preceded in death by her grandparents Ted and Nora Rodine and her mother-in-law Catherine Bartlett.

Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church, 1002 Ave C, Gothenburg, NE, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Cozad Bible Church, 1602 Ave. O, Cozad, NE 69130.
