Kent Keith Kuhlman

June 19, 1948 - August 20, 2007

Kent Keith Kuhlman, 59, of North Platte, formerly of Gothenburg, died on August 20, 2007 at his home.

He was born on June 19, 1948 at Gothenburg to Ben & Rose Duis Kuhlman. He grew up on his father's farm south of Gothenburg and began his life long dream as a farmer. He attended high school at Gothenburg where he earned the nickname "Bear" while playing football on the winning State Championship Team in 1964. Shortly after graduating from high school in 1966 he attained basic training with the army but was later diagnosed with diabetes. He graduated from Hastings Tech College with a degree in Auto & Diesel Mechanics.

On December 7, 1968 he was joined in marriage with Cathy Gauldreault of Cozad. To this union he had 3 sons: Ryan, Chad and Benjamin Kuhlman.

On April 4, 1992 he was joined in marriage with Joy Sitorious of Gothenburg. To this union he had one daughter, Sonni Kuhlman of Gothenburg.

Mr. Kuhlman enjoyed going on hunting and fishing trips with his kids and the company of friends and neighbors during trips to the lake. He enjoyed watching his kids grow up and teaching them a few skills about driving a tractor and growing corn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Roger, an infant sister Sandra.

He is survived by his children (and grandchildren): Ryan and Stacy Kuhlman (Dylan & Skyler) of Wallace; Chad and Hope Kuhlman (Kelsey, Keith, Kurt) of Gothenburg; and Benjamin Kuhlman and his Fiance Bobbie Burk of Omaha; one daughter, Sonni Kuhlman of Gothenburg. Sisters: Carol (Don) Johnson of Gothenburg and Donna Graham of Columbus. A nephew Paul & Vi Graham of Columbus.

A memorial service will be Friday, August 24, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church with Pastor Matthew Groenke officiating.

Those wishing to sign the registrar book may do so on Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel.
