Kenneth E Wahl, 82, of Grand Island formerly of Gothenburg died on November 29, 2007 at Grand Island.
Kenneth was born on October 30, 1925 to Charles Edward & Edith (Nelson) Wahl in Gothenburg, NE. Ken grew up near the Dawson/Custer County line. He was baptized in the Baptist Church in Gothenburg. As a young boy he enjoyed farm animals, farm machinery, and baseball. When Ken was very young his mother passed away leaving his father and aunt to raise him and his older brother Frank. He and his brother were very close. As a young adult Ken moved to a group home in Beatrice and later to Hastings and Grand Island.
Ken was most recently living at the Golden Living Center in Grand Island. Ken had a very sweet tooth and will be remembered by the staff and residence for going to the dinning room to sneak treats from the tables. Ken enjoyed baseball and fishing. He also enjoyed little children; they would always put a smile on his face.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Frank.
Survivors include is sister-in-law Barbara Wahl of Arden Hills, MN; two nieces and a nephew, and friend Dawn Hagen-Shurter of Kalamazoo, MI.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am Monday, December 3 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.
Graveside services will be 11:30 am, Monday, December 3 with Pastor Larry Viter Officiating.
Burial will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
