Kenneth L. Baker, 65, of North Platte, Nebraska, died September 27, 2023 in North Platte, Nebraska.
Kenneth was born March 3, 1958 in Grand Island, NE, son of Roland Baker and Lavonne (Strong) Baker.
Kenneth grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder. Growing up he would spend summers with his grandparents in Gothenburg and it was in Gothenburg where he met and later married Lois Ostendorf on June 9, 1979, and to this union three daughters were born.
Kenneth worked at several different jobs including an implement parts man, but his heart was in driving truck. He later met and married Mindi Miles on February 9, 2019 and was completely welcomed into her family.
After some health issues arose, he had to give up his dream job of driving truck. He then found a new outlet in the Guardians of the Children, and became very involved with this group, Kenneth loved being able to spend time with them. He also loved fishing and was a fisherman with all the great tales.
Survivors include wife, Mindi of North Platte, daughters, Lynnette (Brent) Atkinson of Gothenburg, Heather (Nick) Barnes of Gothenburg, and Melissa (Jake) Baal of Cozad, stepson Leighton Miles of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Cole and Cade Atkinson of Gothenburg, Morgan, Hattie, and Rowdy Barnes of Gothenburg, and Ella and Brantley Baal of Cozad, mother, Lavonne of Colby, KS; two sisters, Lynn Baker of Longmont, CO and Jeri (Todd) Jacobs of Dresden, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Roland Baker, and his brother, Dale Baker.
Register Book Signing will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 Tenth St, Gothenburg, NE, with the family present.
Memorials may be directed to the Guardian of the Children.
